PORTLAND – Brooks & Dunn, a country music duo, will perform April 15 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will stop in Portland while on their Red Dirt Road Tour.

Brooks & Dunn have sold 22 million albums, scored 18 No. 1 hits, heard their names called as Entertainer of the Year four times and become consistent country music headliners.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14.

Special guests for the concert will be Joe Nichols and Josh Turner.

When Brooks & Dunn were making their latest album, “Red Dirt Road,” they decided they wanted to strip things back to their roots and celebrate the music that was the foundation for their bulked-up, high-intensity brand of honky-tonk.

It debuted as No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with sales in excess of 114,000. It also landed at No. 4 on Billboard’s all-genre Top 200 Albums chart.

“You can’t write about fun and games all the time,” said guitar-slinging songwriter Kix Brooks. “I think Ron and I were ready to get to a place that was a bit more reflective, to maybe expose our roots a little more…. We both grew up with such big record collections, and it’s in there always. This time, though, we brought it out a little farther – but we still tried to keep the intensity of what we do.”

Tickets to the 7:30 concert are $49.75 and $34.75, reserved seating, for all ages. They will be available at the Civic Center’s box office with no service charge. Tickets also available at Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com and at www.cc.com, or by phone at (207) 775-3458 and (207) 775-3331.
