The all-new X3 Sports Activity Vehicle is instantly recognizable as a BMW and bears no little resemblance to its larger X5 sibling, combining both classic and new design features from BMW including a newly designed double kidney grille, headlights and rear lights.
Power for the X3 will be provided by either BMW’s 2.5-liter or 3.0-liter in line six-cylinder motor, with the 2.5 making 184 horsepower, and the 3.0 generating 225 horsepower. Two transmission are available, regardless of the engine selected — a six-speed manual, or a five-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox.
A special highlight of the BMW X3 is the all-new xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system. xDrive allows infinitely adjustable and fully variable torque distribution front-to-rear. The system immediately recognizes any need for a change in power distribution responding quickly when driving on road, often before wheels begin to lose their grip. The system significantly minimizes understeer and oversteer.
The X3 measures nearly 180 inches in overall length, stands 66-inches tall, rides on a 110.1-inch wheelbase and provides a cargo volume measuring approximately 71 cubic feet. The interior and wide range of available equipment reflects the agile nature of the X3.
