WATERFORD – One of eight people was slightly hurt in a motor vehicle collision Friday evening on Route 37.
Oxford County Sheriff’s Cpl. Matt Baker said Salvatore Salafia, 59, of Gloucester Mass., slid through the stop sign on Cheevers Road and hit a vehicle driven by Kevin Toohey, 24, of Harrison.
Neither driver was hurt.
Riding with Salafia were James Pratt, 54, of Rockport, Mass., Mark Sullivan, 48, and David Shaffer, 60, both of Gloucester, Mass.
None of them were hurt, Baker said.
Riding with Toohey were Dustin Hunt, 24, of Norway, Robin Dekutoski of Waterford and Jamie Hodgson of Atlanta, Ga. One of the women received a cut on her hand, Baker said, but he did not know which woman it was.
Deputy Brian Landis and Stoneham Rescue assisted Baker.
Damage to Salafia’s 1998 GMC Jimmy was estimated at $1,000 and to Toohey’s 1992 Chevrolet Caprice at $2,000.
