The Honda S2000 roadster continues to favorably evolve as a high-performance, two-seat, open-topped roadster, developed from four decades of racing knowledge and heritage. It is a front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car incorporating world-class safety features mounted aboard an H X-bone frame.

The S2000’s styling is modern and purposeful with crisp, angular execution. The hood is long and low with fenders flaring over the low profile 17-inch performance tires (new for 2004) on alloy wheels giving a low, muscular stance. Attractiveness reigns with the top in either the up or down position, the power transition from one mode to the other taking only six seconds at the push of a button after releasing the ingenious header latches. A manual boot covers the dropped top.

For 2004, the four-cylinder engine moves from 2.0-liters to 2.2, improving power delivery without revving as high. Horsepower is still 240, while torque increases to 163 pound feet. Gearing for the 6-speed manual gearbox has been revised as has suspension tuning.

Appearance-wise, the 2004 S2000 gets a more aerodynamic front and rear bumper design and a new three-lamp headlight and taillight design. Larger dual tailpipes are restyled and the interior freshened with improved shoulder and elbow room, and an improved console with two cup holders and storage tray.
