1918 – 2004
LEWISTON – Maria V. Labrecque, 85, of Lewiston, died on Feb. 11, at CMMC, with her family at her side.
Born in Berlin, N.H., Oct. 28, 1918, the daughter of Annabella and Francis Dionne, her family moved to Lewiston when she was four and she attended Lewiston schools.
She married Joseph G. Labrecque on June 23, 1947. She worked in the community for many years, until her retirement in the early 1980s.
She was a member of the Acme Snowshoe Club for many years. She really enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren race on snowshoes and enjoyed going to Range Pond Campground in the summers with her son, Roger. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Good Shepherd Food Bank for many years.
Survivors include four sons and a daughter, sons, Leo and his four children and three grandchildren, all of Arizona, Roland and his wife, Olla, Roger of Lewiston and Richard and his wife, Carleen of Lisbon Falls and daughter, Theresa Labrecque of Lewiston; grandchildren, Ronnie Labrecque, Kristine Moore, Kathy and James Palys, Tina and Dana Pride, Paul Bressette, Amy and Shawn Shelton and Dixie and Tom Colby; and great-grandchildren, Paula Colburn, Samantha Judd, Amanda and Dana Pride and Katina and Zachary Colby; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, on March 26, 1971; and siblings, Arthur, Adrien, George and Leo Dionne, Lucia and Louise Rioux, Rose Morin and Beatrice Letourneau.
