GARDINER – James Wilfong, a small business entrepreneur from Maine and a member of former President Bill Clinton’s Small Business Administration, will speak on marketing initiatives Feb. 26 at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.

Wilfong has more than 30 years experience in international trade, marketing, small business management and public policy.

He was appointed by Clinton as the Small Business Administration’s assistant administrator for international trade in 1999 and served until 2001. He is also co-author of Taking Your Business Global – Your Small Business Guide to Successful International Trade and is the creator of The Integrated Economic Opportunity Model.

His workshop will cover: customer identification, product development, product positioning, focus on image, pricing for profit, product promotion, niche marketing, global marketing issues, using technology for market reach, financing your marketing plan, his top 11 business tips and creating a vision.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Campus Center Building. Seats are limited to 25.

Admission is $20 including materials, lunch and snacks. Walk-ins will only be accepted if seats are available.
