Children will learn the history of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

LEWISTON – Douglas E. Taylor, ministry director of the Pentecostal Kids’ Church the Jesus Party, extends an open invitation to area children 5 years and up to celebrate Presidents Day.

The ministry will observe the holiday during its meeting time at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at 291 Bates St. Special guest will be Jerry DerBoghosian of Post 22, American Legion. He has served as the Jesus Party patriotic mentor since 1997.

The children will learn the history of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. A 23-minute video will show how the president is elected, his or her responsibilities and the White House.

Children will join in singing patriotic hymns, and a special prayer will be offered for President George W. Bush.

The children will also have the opportunity to win prizes such as America’s first ladies and presidents coloring books and antiqued parchment documents of the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and signed photographs with the dates and terms of every president from Washington to Bush.
