Too many unregistered dogs
Town officials are urging residents to register their dogs. As of last week, town records showed at least 52 dogs with expired registrations. A late fee of $15 went into effect after Jan. 31. The late fee will increase to $25 per dog after March 2. The registration includes certification of current rabies shots as a public safety issue.
Residents who have not yet registered their dogs might get a visit from the animal control officer. Continued noncompliance eventually would lead to a court summons.
