FARMINGTON – Musician, writer and teacher Robin Barron, owner of Foxhollow Studio, will offer “An Introduction to Creative Self-Care” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 21, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Academy Street.

There will be hands-on, interactive learning about creativity for recreation, relaxation and stress management, as well as music, arts and crafts, writing and small group discussion. Participants will learn why and how creativity can improve their physical, mental and emotional health.

Barron has a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Maine, six years’ experience teaching music in grades kindergarten through 12, and 24 years’ experience as church organist at this Baptist Church. She received her master of art’s degree from Vermont College in Montpelier in music therapy and music ministry, with emphasis in creativity studies. She is adapting her master’s thesis, “Women, Midlife and Creativity,” for publication.

The $45 fee includes materials and light refreshments. Participants are being asked to bring a favorite writing implement and a journal or notebook.
