I have been amused and disturbed at the disinformation being spread by some writers in letters to the editor. I would like to offer a rebuttal to a specific letter written by Harry Dwyer that appeared Feb. 6.
The president did not lie about the information given to him. He had the same information given him that President Clinton had. The Clinton administration, along with England, had Iraq bombed for four days. Remember?
The United States was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, which killed 3,000 innocent Americans. How many attacks on our lands since?
Saddam Hussein was very evil. We have already found 100,000 bodies in mass graves.
More than 70 countries joined in the conflict on our side. The “larger” countries that didn’t join have appeared on a “bribe” list found with Saddam when we captured him. Iraq was bribing countries with millions of barrels of oil.
The president’s detractors need to find a reason for Americans to vote for them, instead of just against the president. That would require the Democrats to actually have an agenda of what is good for America.
