LOVELL – Local author Walter Staples will visit the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library on Main Street from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25.
A native of Maine, Staples has published many poems, short stories and articles in local newspapers and magazines. He will come talk about “Blueberryland – Taming the Maine Wild Lowbush Blueberry.” The book gives a 100-year history of the Maine wild lowbush blueberry industry.
Other books by Staples include ‘The North Bay Narrative,” a story of a remote Newfoundland village and its evolution from a community of a few families where men built boats by hand to today’s collection of cottages where men guide visiting Atlantic salmon fishermen. His books will be on sale at the event.
Blueberry snacks will be served.
