BIDDEFORD (AP) – Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a 34-year-old woman.
June Caouette of Biddeford was crossing Federal Street in a crosswalk about 6:45 p.m. Friday when she was hit by a car. The driver kept going and didn’t call anybody, police said. The woman was discovered lying in the road by an off-duty firefighter.
Police said Caouette died Sunday night at Maine Medical Center of injuries sustained in the accident.
Evidence from the accident scene was being processed at the Maine State Police Crime Laboratory.
