KINGFIELD – A Kingfield company is in the process of selling a former wood-turning plant and its property.
Jordan Lumber Co. bought H.G. Winter & Sons’ 40-acre site and several buildings, including a three-story building and a 150-square-foot, single-level main building, in September.
A purchase and sales agreement has been signed, Jordan Vice President Jonathan Jordan said.
“We’re hoping to close within a week,” he said Thursday.
Since Jordan said he was sworn to confidentiality until the deal’s complete, he declined to name the buyer.
Jordan said his family bought the manufacturing plant in hopes of finding someone to buy it, put it back to work and bring more jobs to the area.
The plant is one being submitted to the state’s Pine Tree Zone economic development program.
