AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a new series for trainers, presenters and instructors, “Train the Trainer.”
Participants may customize the program to their needs and skill level by choosing from any of six three-hour workshops, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 26 through April 1. The cost is $55 a workshop and includes materials as well as a certificate of completion.
The first, Instructional Design for New Trainers (CCS 044-01), will be offered on Feb. 26. Participants will learn how to manage the course design process, from planning a project through evaluating the program.
In March, Humor in Training (CCS 045-01) will be offered on March 4. The session will provide strategies on how to incorporate humorous techniques into the design and delivery of a course, presentation or training program.
On March 11, How Adults Learn (CCS 046-01) will offer a recipe for successful learning that will guarantee adult learners get the most out of presentations and training sessions.
Evaluation of Training (CCS 047-01) will be presented on March 18. It will provide tools to gather, analyze and communicate the bottom-line results that training has on an organization. Participants will return to their jobs with the process, tools and techniques that build a case for the effectiveness of training programs.
Professional Presentation Skills, on March 25, will be for anyone who gives presentations, speeches or lectures. It will help overcome public speaking fears and give participants confidence to make clear and meaningful presentations.
The series will conclude on April 1, with Advanced Instructional Techniques, a session on how to lead a group, analyze group dynamics, motivate participants, set up a positive climate for learning, as well as deal with difficult participants.
