In the Sun Journal today, Feb. 13, there is an article relegated to page B8 titled “Fed: Lock in tax cuts.” Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has told Congress that they should make President Bush’s tax cuts permanent and cover the $1 trillion price by making cuts in Social Security and other entitlement programs.

This story should be on the front page with a huge headline “Greenspan says Bush tax cuts will mean cuts in Social Security and other programs!”

This article may not be of front-page importance to wealthy Republicans, but it’s a front-page story for ordinary people who are depending on Social Security, Medicare and other programs to be available when they are needed.
