BETHEL – The newest Bethel Historical Society winter/spring course will begin on Thursday, March 11, and continue on March 25, April 15 and April 29. The course will focus on four centuries of the relationship between northern New England and Canada.

The relations between these two regions were not always peaceful. A number of colorful characters on both sides of the border are part of the story as well. Society Director Stanley R. Howe, who holds a Ph.D. in Canadian history and has written and lectured widely on New England and Canadian history, will be the instructor.

The four session course will be open to anyone interested. The course fee for nonmembers of the society is $20 and for members $15. The fee can be paid at the first session. Anyone wishing to enroll should call the society office at (207) 824-2908 or (800) 824-2910 or e-mail: info@bethelhistorical.org.
