On Thursday, Feb. 1, there will be the annual oyster stew supper at the Legion Hall on Gore Road. Members of the post and auxiliary are urged to attend and become involved together in the legion and auxiliary programs.

It is time for high school juniors to be thinking about applying to attend Girls State in June. This program is held for a week at Husson College and involves learning about all levels of government by participation in all the processes from local to national elections and the work of government.

High school seniors can take advantage of scholarships offered by the post and auxiliary to help them continue their education. The auxiliary will consider applications from all girls, but will give preference in final decisions to members of the auxiliary, followed by daughters of auxiliary members, then to any others. Applications should be made soon. Girls interested in either Girls State or the scholarships should contact Nancy Grover in the Guidance Office.

If there is business to attend to there will be a meeting following the oyster stew supper; otherwise the next meeting will be March 4.
