HEBRON – A takeout church supper will be offered by the Hebron Community Baptist Church members Saturday, Feb. 28, at the church. Food will be prepared to order. The menu will be a 9-inch turkey pie, one pint of cole slaw, cranberry sauce, six dinner rolls and dessert for six. All items will be home baked and ready to carry home.
Cost for the meal is $15. Food delivery will be available for senior citizens living in Hebron. Reservations will be taken until Thursday evening, Feb. 26. Orders may be telephoned to Velma Farnsworth at 966-2480 or call the church at 966-2694.
Lenten messages
PARIS – The Deering Memorial Methodist Church announced the sermon theme for the Lenten season is compassion. All services are held at 10 a.m. Children will leave the sanctuary for classes after the pastor’s message to them. A coffee fellowship hour follows the services.

Republican caucus
WOODSTOCK – Republicans from Milton Township and the Town of Woodstock are asked to attend the local caucus at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, in the conference room at the Woodstock Town Office Complex. The purpose of the caucus is to elect officers of the local caucus and to elect a delegate to the Oxford County Committee. They will also select three delegates and alternates and a chairman of the delegates from each municipality to attend the state convention May 14-15 in Augusta.
Reading skills
HARRISON – All preschoolers and families are invited to a family workshop for the Harrison Pre-K Club about early reading skills from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Harrison Elementary School. There will be activities for both parents and children to aid learning. Dessert will be served. The workshop is sponsored by Title I.
Boosters meeting
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Music and Art departments are hosting a reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Music Room. The event has been organized on behalf of the Oxford Hills Music, Art, and Drama Boosters, which support the arts in the Oxford Hills. They sponsor special events, raise funds for groups to travel or for scholarship assistance for summer arts camps. OHMAD has served the arts in Oxford Hills for years and is looking for members. Economic forum
PARIS – A Creative Economy Forum will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School’s forum. The event is free and open to the public. The forum will present the creative economy concept.
This is the topic of the May 2004 Blaine House Conference scheduled for May 6 and 7 at the Bates Mill Complex in Lewiston. The forum will include open discussion about the promotion of creative economy initiatives in western Maine. A film will be shown titled “Downside Up,” that documents the transformation of North Adams, Mass., as the state turned a large mill into a contemporary art museum. The forum is sponsored by the Growth Council of Oxford Hills, the Lake Region Development Council, and the Maine Arts Commission.
