WALTHAM, Mass. – Edward Little graduate Bryan Lambert joined the 1,000-point club at Brandeis University this past weekend.

The 6-foot-8 senior center from Auburn scored a career-high 36 points during last Friday’s loss to Washington University in St. Louis. He hit 15-of-27 attempts from the floor, including three of four from behind the 3-point arc. His 13 rebounds gave Lambert his eighth double-double in his last nine games.

He is the the school’s 22nd player to score more than 1,000 career points.

Brandeis’ top scorer and rebounder, Lambert is second in the conference in rebounding (9.7) and fifth in scoring (19.5).

Advance tickets available for NESCAC Men’s Basketball Semifinal

LEWISTON – Tickets are on sale for the Bates College men’s basketball NESCAC semifinal game at No. 1 Williams, slated for Saturday at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for students, and children under five are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Alumni Gymnasium, or via telephone at 786-6486 by 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The winner advances to the NESCAC championship game Sunday with the chance to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.

The Bates women will also be playing for a NESCAC title this weekend, facing Wesleyan in the semifinals at Bowdoin at 4 p.m. Saturday. Ticket prices are the same as the men’s tournament and will be available at the door.

Hickson and Polce awarded first place at North Florida PGA Winter Tour

EUSTIS, Fla. – John Hickson of Newry and partner Tim Polce was awarded first place Tuesday when rain washed out the final round of a two-man scramble conducted by the North Florida PGA winter tour at Black Bear Golf Club.

Polce and Hickson took the first round lead Monday at 13-under-par 59. They made eight consecutive birdies starting at No. 2, then birdied 12 and 14, eagled the par-5 16th and birdied the 18th for a one-stroke lead.

Polce and Hickson earned $1,500 apeice from the $8,100 purse.
