AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a free preview of the Home Technology Integrator (HTI) curriculum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the college.
The program is an industry-recognized certification program designed to meet the emerging demand for “Smart Homes,” in which all of the electric and electronic systems – home security, audio/video, computer networks, electrical wiring, HVAC, cable/satellite, broadband, telecommunications and commercial wiring – are integrated. The preview will introduce a more comprehensive training program scheduled for later in the spring.
The program is helpful to anyone interested in smart home technology, including technicians, contractors and maintenance people who work with electrical wiring, home audio and entertainment systems, home control and security systems or computer networking. Previous networking experience is recommended but not required
