LEWISTON – A car with three young people missed a turn and went airborne on Old Lisbon Road Saturday night at 9:16 p.m., according to police.
“They hit a tree in flight and it twisted the car around,” said Sgt. David St. Pierre.
At least two occupants had to be extricated from the 2001 Ford Focus as it sat in trees beside the house at 4 Old Lisbon Rd. Driver and owner Justin Tardif, 22, of Sabattus and passenger Kyle Landry, 20, of Lewiston were taken to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment. Passenger Casey Pelletier, 18, of Lewiston was taken to St. Mary’s.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, St. Pierre said. The car was a total loss.
The accident is under investigation. Speed appears to be a factor.
