1913 – 2004
LEWISTON – Doris M. Blakeslee, 91, residing at Ouellette’s Adult Foster Care Home, Lewiston, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 26.
She was born Jan. 15, 1913. She graduated from Afton High School in 1931, and from Cortland Hospital Nursing School in New York state in 1935, as a registered nurse. Prior to her retirement in 1971, she was employed at Greene Central Schools, New York.
She was a member of First Congregational Church in Greene, N.Y. Since 1945, her hobbies were sewing and knitting and she was an original member of the Greene Stitchers Group.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James K. and Joyce Blakeslee of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; four grandsons, Peter Griffin of North Bay, Canada, Kyle Griffin and his wife Shay of Anchorage, Alaska, Jared Griffin and his wife Elisha of Lewiston, and James F. Blakeslee of Arlington, Va.; two granddaughters, Krista Blakeslee of Burke, Va., Heather Marsden of Auburn; great-grandson, Spencer Griffin of Lewiston; niece, Pearl Crispell of Benson, Ariz.; and son-in-law, Joseph Marsden of Auburn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry M. Blakeslee; and by a daughter, Ann Blakeslee Marsden.
