1946 – 2004

LISBON – Janet Diane Ridley, 58, a resident of McClellan Street, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 27, at her home surrounded by her family, following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 18, 1946, the daughter of Clifford “Joe” and Barbara Durgin Starbird. She was educated in the grammar schools of Lisbon and was a 1964 graduate of Lisbon High School.

On July 4, 1964, she married Richard Ridley at South Lewiston Baptist Church. Mrs. Ridley was employed for many years as a mail room clerk at Bowdoin College and loved meeting and talking with students there at the mail room window and enjoyed the many friendships she shared with her special co-workers.

She was a member of the Left Hand Club Auxiliary of Lisbon. She loved NASCAR racing and enjoyed traveling to watch various races. She also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Florida, but for the most part liked spending time at home with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years of Lisbon; a son, Scott Ridley of Lisbon; a daughter, Laurie Landry and her fiancé Tim Bowen of Lisbon; four grandsons, Justin Ridley, and Steve, Ian, and Alex Landry, and one granddaughter, Courtney Ridley.

She was predeceased by a brother, Rodney Starbird; and one grandson, Jeffrey Landry.
