1927 – 2004

PETERSBURG, Va. – Robert Gould died Thursday, Feb. 26, at Eden Pines Assisted Living after a few months illness.

Born in Lewiston, April 25, 1927, he was the son of Raymond E. and Lillian Wallace Gould of Auburn. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1945 and served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He married Joan Clark of Lewiston on June 30, 1951. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Wallingford, Conn., where he worked for American Cyanamid, retiring after 30 years as chief colorist.

Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Tappahannock, Va., living there for 10 years, and then moving to Chester, Va., to be near their daughter.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; one daughter, Kelly Affleck and her husband George, and beloved granddaughter, Joie Affleck, all of Chester, Va.; one son, Gregory and his wife Linda, and grandsons William Jr., Wesley, and Wayne Fairfax, all of Tappahannock, Va.; and siblings, Edith Bennett and her husband Don of Harrison, Betty Mason and her husband Bert of Turner, Richard and his wife Elsie of Brooklin, and Ellen Mae Harms of Riverton, R.I.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
