MINOT – A three-vehicle accident on Route 121 sent two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Rielly Bryant of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said James Stevens, 41, of Minot had stopped on Route 121 to turn onto Lower Road at 4 p.m. when Peter Eklund, 45, of Harpswell approached from behind. As Eklund braked to avoid Stevens, his car was struck by Jason Dow, 23, of Auburn. Eklund’s car was pushed into Stevens, according to Bryant.

Eklund and his passenger, Kathryn Eklund, 47, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center complaining of neck, back and head pain. Bryant said the injuries were non-life threatening. A nursing supervisor said they were not in the hospital Saturday night.

Damage to Stevens’ 2001 Chevy pickup was estimated at $13,000; damage to Eklund’s 1988 Toyota Camry at $2,000; and damage to Dow’s 1998 Suzuki station wagon at $4,000.
