LEWISTON – The Jesus Party, a local nonprofit, faith-based organization, will recognize the month of March as National Spiritual Wellness Month.

As spring approaches, the ministry looks forward to focusing on the month long theme “New Beginnings.” Inner-city children 5 years old and up will have an opportunity to experience spiritual renewal and inner peace.

Ministry directors, the Rev. Douglas Taylor and Sonia Taylor, have set aside every Friday in March to teach on character traits such as sharing, honesty, kindness, confidence, politeness and responsibility.

These special gatherings will be held at 6 p.m. nightly at 291 Bates St. in Lewiston and will feature stories, songs and snacks. The month-long character building observances will kick off with a PBS video adventure from the “Book of Virtues,” reflecting upon the importance of practicing generosity.

To set the example the ministry will practice what it preaches, by donating $100 to the Hope Haven Gospel Mission’s Rehab Project, and $50 to the L/A Salvation Army’s Vacation Bible School program. For more information concerning these up and coming events call 786-5568.
