NEW GLOUCESTER – Steven Andrew Moran of New Gloucester is one of two Maine students chosen to attend the 42nd annual U.S. Senate Youth Program in Washington, D.C., through March 6. Moran is a student at Gray-New Gloucester High School.
In addition to outstanding leadership abilities and a commitment to volunteering, the students rank in the top one percent in their states for academics. They excel and develop impressive qualities that are often directed toward public service.
Moran’s expenses to Washington were paid and each student receives a $5,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine was the first program delegate elected to the senate.
