AVON – An Avon man was arrested Saturday on a charge that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old Franklin County girl. The man is also accused of giving the teen marijuana at a private party on Hare Street prior the sexual misconduct.
Dale Howard, 42, was charged with unlawful sexual contact, aggravated furnishing of schedule Z drugs, marijuana, and violation of bail conditions, State Police Trooper Peter Michaud said.
The trooper said he received a call from a parent about 4 a.m. Saturday saying that their daughter, a minor, was just sexually assaulted.
During an interview with the girl, Michaud said, it was revealed that Dale Howard had furnished her with some marijuana earlier in the evening at a party and later sexually assaulted the her at his home.
Michaud said he arrested Howard at 8 a.m. at his Hare Street home with the assistance of Trooper Jeffrey Beach and Sgt. Vicki Gardiner.
Howard was on bail from a previous matter that was not sex related, Michaud said. He is charged with violating conditions of his release, which included no alcohol or drugs and no new criminal conduct.
