As stated in Tuesday’s Sun Journal, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins does support closing a gun show loophole and requiring background checks for guns sold at gun shows, but only if those checks take less than 24 hours. On Tuesday, Collins voted against a proposal to close the loophole because it allowed up to three business days for background checks.
