AUBURN – Celeste Philippon and Christopher Scott, co-directors for Community Little Theatre’s June 4-13 production of “Noises Off,” are holding auditions at 7 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, March 7 and 8, at The Great Falls Performing Arts Center on Academy Street.

“Noises Off,” an English comedy by Michael Frayn, is two plays simultaneously, a traditional sex farce, “Nothing On,” and the backstage farce that develops during “Nothing On’s” final rehearsal and tour. The play ends with the closing performance at Stockton-on-Tees when the two farces can be separate no longer.

The show is extremely fast-paced and performers must have great physical agility and stamina.

High energy and impeccable comic timing are vital. British accents will be required.

Roles to be filled are as follows. The first name is the character’s “real life” name and the one in the parentheses is the role in “Nothing On.”

Dotty Otley (Mrs. Clackett) 40 years old or older, an experienced, past-her-prime actress; Lloyd Dallas (director) 35-up; Garry Lejeune (Roger) 25 to 35, an actor newcomer, very physically demanding role; Brooke Ashton (Vicki) 18 to 30, a typical “ditz” who spends most of the play in a teddy; Poppy Norton-Taylor (assistant stage manager) 18 to 40; Frederick Fellowes (Philip) 30 to 50, leading man type with self-esteem issues; Belinda Blair (Flavia) 30 to 45, a seasoned actress and busybody; Tim Allgood (stage manager) 18 or older; and Selsdon Mowbray (burglar) 45 or older, a washed-up Shakespearean actor and an alcoholic.
