PORTLAND – The Maine Jazz Alliance is bringing the Matthias Lupri Quintet with saxophonist Mark Turner back to Portland at 8 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Center for Cultural Exchange on Longfellow Square.

An acclaimed vibraphonist, Lupri will perform material from his CD “Same Time Twice.” Lupri’s quintet includes guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkle, Nate Radly on guitar, Thomson Kneeland on bass and Jordan Perlson on drums.

Born in Germany in 1964, Matthias Lupri grew up in the United States and Canada. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He recently performanced in New York City, at the Litchfield Jazz Festival and at the Boston Globe Jazz Festival.

Tickets: $12 in advance; $15 day of show.
