RUMFORD – The Planning Board took a first look at a mobile home park proposal Wednesday night.

Planner Dennis Breton said Laurie Frost presented a preapplication to the board that requests placing 12 mobile homes on a lot off Franklin Annex. Two mobile homes are already located at the site.

He said the Planning Board will ask for a determination from Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments’ John Maloney on whether the proposed project falls under the site plan and subdivision process.

Also, he said the board plans to consult with an engineer about the site. The board will also schedule a field visit.

He said the board expects to be working on the project for the next two or three months.

The town’s Board of Selectmen is currently considering extending the sewage line to the proposed mobile home park site.

The applicant is expected to attend the next Planning Board meeting on April 7.

Breton said this is the first mobile home park application he is aware of in the dozen or so years he has served on the board.

Planners also took a look at an application from the Rumford Water District to replace a 10-inch water main near Scotty Brook on Route 120 with a 12-inch pipe. Breton said the water district submitted the required floodplain documentation. He expects the shoreland zoning application to be submitted next month.
