LIVERMORE FALLS – Charity Rebekah Lodge members will meet Wednesday, March 10, at their hall, the Ralph Wright Memorial Building in Livermore. Club meeting

NEW VINEYARD – The New Vineyard North Snowmobile Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at Smith Hall with a tasting party to follow the meeting. Finalizing plans for the landowners appreciation supper is on the agenda. The club will not sponsor the annual town meeting dinner this year, but the 4-H Club will hold the meal on March 13.

FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, in the Farmington Public Library. The program will be on information that can be found in the Mortality Census taken the census years 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.

JAY – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will sponsor its 13th annual father/daughter dance from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 13, in the Jay High School cafeteria. RANGELEY – The Catholic Women’s Club of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Masonic Hall on Richardson Street. Help for stepfamilies

FARMINGTON – The challenges of living in a stepfamily is the subject of a series offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Franklin County. The four-part discussion series, “In Step: Building Strong Stepfamilies,” will focus on recognizing expectations, adjusting to new family members, resolving conflicts and communicating effectively. “In Step” will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, March 23 and 30, and April 6 and 13 at the Extension Office, 147 Farmington Falls Road, next to the Town Office. There is no cost, but participants must register by March 19. “Although a stepfamily may look like a traditional family with parents and children, the actual differences between step- and traditional families are striking,” explains Wendy Legg Pollock, Extension educator and leader of the workshop. “Anyone living in a stepfamily knows how challenging and confusing stepfamily life can be, yet they may be blaming themselves or their family, rather than realizing how typical these struggles are for any stepfamily. ‘Spring Fling’

FARMINGTON – Trinity United Methodist Women are accepting table reservations for their Spring Fling sale to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 27, at the church on routes 2 and 27. FARMINGTON – Mount Blue High School’s Class of 2006 will present the second annual Antique Show at the school on April 3. The show will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gym and cafe. Proceeds from the show will benefit Project Graduation. Antique dealers may purchase display space for a $20 fee. Tables and chairs will be provided. Setup will be 7 to 9 a.m. April 3. Coffee and doughnuts will be served in the morning, followed by a lunch of soups, sandwiches and potluck. Door prizes will be awarded. Meals for seniors

WILTON – SeniorsPlus is holding a March for Meals penny drive. During this month, Meals on Wheels programs across the nation are raising money for local Meals on Wheels services. SeniorsPlus operates the Meals on Wheels program in this area. The cost to provide one home-delivered meal is $5.84. The agency has 53 people on a waiting list who can’t get Meals on Wheels because there isn’t enough money to provide them. “Every penny does count,” said Meals on Wheels Coordinator Jayne LaPointe. “It doesn’t take much to meet this basic need. And the benefits to the meal recipients go far beyond just nourishment. The meals are nutritionally balanced and the personal contact that the senior has with the person delivering the meal is equally in maintaining good health.” Donations can be taken to the Wilton dining site. AWAP volunteers

FARMINGTON – Abused Women’s Advocacy Project is seeking volunteers. Training sessions for interested volunteers will be held on Friday afternoons. AWAP provides shelter, court advocacy, support groups and information to victims of domestic violence. Training involves learning to help with crisis work with victims of domestic violence, with court watch, with children of domestic violence, with office work and presentations in the community, and with advocacy work for survivors.
