1909 – 2004

NORWAY – Catherine C. Russell, 95, of Paris Hill Road, South Paris left this world peacefully, Sunday March 7, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center, where she had been a resident since July of 1999.

She was born on Jan. 10, 1909, the daughter of Donald P. and Elsie B. Chapman. She attended school in South Paris and completed her education at the Massachusettes Homeopathic Hospital training for Nurses on December 6, 1929.

She married Kenneth L. Russell on Aug. 6, 1932, and lived in South Paris, where in the first years of her married life she was a farm wife, but also used her nursing skills in her home by assisting with births and tonsillectomies.

In later years she worked for Dr. H. Harper of South Paris. She and her husband had two daughters, Janette and Jean. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her home, flower gardens, golfing, traveling and going to the ocean. She was devoted to her faith and her church.

Last but not least, her loving face and smile will be forever missed by her loved ones.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Janette McCabe of Norway, and Jean Foster and her husband Lynn of West Paris; her grandchildren, Sheryl Russell, Kenneth Farrar and his wife Lisa, Michael Smith and his wife Shari, Rebecca Foster, and Audrey Lynn Foster; her great-grandchildren, Danielle, Alicia, Kyle and Colon Farrar, Jarred, Aaron and Connor Smith.
