MEXICO – Town Manager Joseph Derouche will update the board and the public on the many projects now under way by town committees and officials when selectmen meet Wednesday.

He will also present financing alternatives for replacement of the Mexico Recreation Center furnace.

The regular, twice-monthly meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the town office.

Derouche said he will discuss the planned revision of the town’s economic and marketing plan and potentially hiring Management Intervention Services of Rockland to complete that revision.

He said the Planning Board has recently begun a revision of the decade-old Comprehensive Plan. He will provide an update on progress so far. Other updates will be discussed as needed.

A recent state inspection showed that the boiler that serves the Recreation Center must be replaced within 30 days. Derouche said the cost could run as high as $50,000, an expense the town hadn’t anticipated.

He said he will outline potential financing methods, including possible use of the town’s insurance.

Other agenda items include a discussion that could result in a change in the meeting agenda’s format, a report by the road commissioner and a closed session to discuss a possible business venture.
