Minot Consolidated School’s 8 plus grade class is working with KIDS Consortium on planning the 4th Annual New England Student Summit for Service Learning. Sara Drapeau, a VISTA worker at KIDS, is helping the students plan this two day event to be held March 25 and 26 at USM in Gorham.

The Summit will host over 300 students from all over New England. KIDS Consortium of Lewiston asked the eighth graders to help plan this event. So far the students have developed a theme, designed logos and contacted presenters for the various workshops.

The class is proud to announce they were able to obtain Travis Roy , a motivational speaker and author, for the keynote speaker on March 25. The evening entertainment will include a dance with the band Pozer.

Service Learning combines service to others with academic integrity and student ownership.
