1918 – 2004
AUBURN – Muriel S. LeBlanc, 86, formerly of 22 Charles St., Lewiston, died peacefully Tuesday, March 9, at her residence at Clover Living Center.
She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 27, 1918, the daughter of Thomas J. and Annie Ruel Saucier. She was educated in local schools, including Jordan Grammar School and Acme Business College.
She was married Jan. 31, 1942, to Julien O. LeBlanc Sr. who predeceased her Oct. 2, 1993.
Mrs. LeBlanc was a housewife and was employed at Trober’s Fur Shop and the family owned business of LeBlanc’s Cleaners and as bookkeeper in the City of Lewiston Treasurer’s Office until her retirement.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality, Past President of St. Mary’s Hospital Patronesses, the C.R.F. Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Elks Auxiliary and the Exchangettes. She enjoyed her summer residence at Woodbury Pond at Tacoma Lakes and performed many hours of volunteer work at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne L. Read and husband Richard of Lewiston; three sons, Julien O.”Butch” LeBlanc Jr. and wife Sylvia of Auburn, Ronald A. LeBlanc and Michel H. LeBlanc and fiancée Teresa Keene all of Lewiston; a sister, Sybil Nadeau and husband Hubert of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, David LeBlanc, Anne Marie Millett, Stephen LeBlanc, Brian LeBlanc, Jeffrey Read, Susan Townsend, Amy LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc and Sarah LeBlanc; six great-grandchildren, Timothy, Katherine and Connor Millett, Anna LeBlanc, Peyton and Emma Townsend.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Aldea Ayotte, Helen Chaput, Cecilia Langlois and Germaine Lambert.
