MARLTON, N.J. – Carmen Marie-Cecile Jordan, 80, a former resident of Kilsyth Street, Auburn, died unexpectedly Monday morning, March 8, at the Vitua Hospital in Evesham Township, N.J.

She was born in Lewiston March 25, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Elaine Aube Lagasse. She was educated in the schools of Auburn and attended Acme Business College of Lewiston.

On July 14, 1941, she married John W. Jordan in Auburn. He died April 25, 1972. Mrs. Jordan was employed as Clerk for the State of Maine with the Department of Motor vehicles (Lewiston Office) retiring in 1981.

Mrs. Jordan for the past three years had resided with her daughter, Elaine Merrill in Shamong, N.J. Mrs. Jordan was a member of St. Louis Parish, Ladies of Ste. Ann, New Auburn Senior Citizens Club, Fidelity Rebecca’s of the The Odd Fellows and was previously a member of St. Mary’s Parish. She enjoyed the interest of music, flowers, nature and traveling.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bradford (Elaine) Merrill of Shamong, N.J., and Mrs. Roger (Elizabeth) Arsenault of Blackstock, S.C.; one son, John C. Jordan of Buckfield; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Georgette) Lepage of Minot; one brother, Arthur Lagassee and his wife Janet of Auburn; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces; and two nephews.
