PARIS – Merry Shore will be the speaker at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, Sunday. The service begins at 10 a.m. with the organ voluntaries beginning at 9:50. Shore’s topic will be, “What Am I Doing Here?”

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. Sunday School will be in session and child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

March program

PARIS – Making It Through March continues at the First Universalist Church on Pine Street each Tuesday for the rest of March. On March 16 local author Sharon Bouchard will host “Fun With Writing” from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants will experience some fun writing exercises and an opportunity to explore their creative thought process.

Renee Wales will facilitate Candle Art from 1 to 3 p.m. March 23 demonstrating turning plain candles into decorative pieces. Each participant will have at least one candle to work on and take home with them.

Muriel and Al Dignan will host Fun and Games from 2 to 4 p.m March 30. This is a fun socializing opportunity for all attendees.

All the events are free and open to everyone. Advanced registration is not required. Refreshments will be served.

Book fair

BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital will be the host site for a Books are Fun book fair from noon 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 26. Books will be sold at savings up to 70 percent. A percentage of the book sale profits are donated to the Bridgton Hospital Health Sciences Library.

Original play

BERLIN, N.H. – “Iscariot,” an original play performed by Irish actor, Charles Hughes, will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St. The one-man show, direct from Ireland, tells the story of Judas searching for forgiveness after two thousand years. Tickets are $10 at the door.
