MECHANIC FALLS – Members of Tyrian Masonic Lodge 73, AF and AM will honor Poland Regional High School student Michael Maberry for his initiative and support of the Pledge of Allegiance on Saturday, March 27.
A dinner will be held in his honor at Tyrian Lodge, South Main Street. Falls. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a special presentation. The dinner and presentation will be open to the public.
Maberry recently proposed a change in school policy that would bring the Pledge of Allegiance into the school. Under his proposal, middle and high school students would voluntarily meet in the lobby before school begins to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
The proposal was originally made in the spring of last year, but did not become reality until recently. The Masons are honoring him because of his courage and persistence.
