Dear Sun Spots: I subscribed to the new Maine Times magazine when it came out in January 2004. I understand it stopped publishing, and that subscribers would get a refund. I haven’t heard anything lately. Do you have any information regarding this?

Also, Is there anyone in the area who does furniture reupholstering (not slipcovers)? Thank you. – N. Miller, Lewiston.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots tried to contact the former editor and publisher of the Maine Times, but has had no success. Perhaps there are other readers out there who have subscribed to this magazine and would be willing to share what they know with you.

Regarding your second question: Contact Ed Boucher at O-J’s Upholstery and Hobby Shop on Main Street in Wilton. Boucher specializes in furniture, cars, trucks, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and marine canvas and cushions. He also does custom work. You can reach him at (207) 645-3366.

Dear Sun Spots: I am writing a book on the town and people of Riley, Maine, a section of Jay. I would like to get information on families who lived there, pictures that people may have, stories of Riley or anything that would be of interest.

There will be a workshop meeting on April 1 at 1 p.m, at the Jay-Niles Memorial Library, located in North Jay. We will share stories, and gather material and photos to use, and they will be returned promptly. Please e-mail me at rosemorr@pivot.net or call me at 998-4138. Thank you. – Rosemary (Davenport) Morrison, Poland.

Dear Sun Spots: Could you please help me?

I am looking for the lady in the photograph and article enclosed. She makes fashions for Fido, and I have tried to find her in Lewiston but with no luck. I have a small dog who is in need of some jammies. I’m pretty sure she is the lady I bought some from at a dog show in Augusta, but it’s been awhile. Your help would be greatly appreciated. – Sharon Hawkes, Wiscasset.
