PERU – The Families in Crisis Task Force will hold a community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, March 15, at the Rockemeka Grange, 92 Peru Center Road. Donations will be accepted.

Free seminar

MEXICO – Oxford Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a free seminar for first-time home buyers at its home office in Mexico at 6 p.m. March 17. Attendees will be given a coupon good for $100 off the closing costs of their first mortgage prior to Oct. 1, 2004. Experts will walk prospective buyers through the home-buying process. Mortgage loan officers from Oxford Federal Credit Union and CUSO Mortgage Corp. will explain conventional and government mortgage loans. Brokers will offer suggestions on how to use a broker and the advantages of a “buyer’s broker.” Licensed appraisers and home inspectors will explain what they look for in homes. The seminar will be held at the credit union main office in Mexico, 225 River Road. Refreshments will be served, and there will be door prizes.
