FARMINGTON – The diversity of winter has been captured in grand style by the photography of local residents featured in the community photography exhibit at Franklin Memorial Hospital. On a wall in the hospital’s new front lobby, 20 photographs framed in various sizes express the theme Winter Fun. On it are pictures of skiing, sledding, snowmen, pets, kids, scenery, and other winter scenes.
The exhibit titled, “A Moment in Time,” represents the work of greater Franklin County photographers. “This exhibit is as much a celebration of life as it is a showplace for local talent,” said FMH President Richard Batt. “Every few months the exhibit and theme will change – putting on display pictures of summer fun, children, parents, home and more.”
Photo selections now on display were made based on artistic value, quality, diversity and consistency with the stated theme. They include: photos by Ken Pankovic, Kathy Leonards, Susan Ray, Genoria Bergeron, Sheila Yates, Benadette Harvell, Carol Perreault, Walter Mularz, Tamara Wentworth, Terri Pierce, Betty Linke, Nancy Weiner, Sara Deane, Cheryl Moody, Paula St. Germain, Joshua Harvell.
Anyone who submitted a photo that was not selected may pick his or her picture up at the hospital’s front desk through May 1.
The next exhibit’s theme, “Friends,” will be on display in May and June, with the entry deadline being April 15. Anyone living in Franklin Memorial’s service area is eligible to submit two photographs. Each photograph should have a completed entry form attached to the back it. The entry form is available by calling 779-2555 or it can be printed off the FCHN Web site at www.fchn.org.
Entries should be directed to Community Relations Office, Franklin Memorial Hospital, 111 Franklin Health Commons, Farmington, ME 04938. For more information, contact Jill Gray at 779-2555.
