RUMFORD – Town managers and selectmen from the 10 River Valley towns will have a chance to get together and discuss common concerns at a special symposium March 31.

The first River Valley Municipality Summit is sponsored by the River Valley Growth Council and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“We want to get them all together to share what they are facing,” said Tammi Lyons, executive secretary of the chamber.

The chamber and Growth Council hosted a similar event for all area state representatives and senators last month.

Such efforts are believed to help solidify the identity of the River Valley region, Lyons said.

Letters are currently being sent to all selectmen and town managers. Those who don’t respond will get follow-up calls.

Although the format has yet to be finalized, Lyons said a facilitator will likely help direct the discussion.

The event begins with a light supper and will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Dirigo High School.
