Dear Sun Spots: Could you please find out why there is a nick in the purple feather of the peacock logo on Channel 6 television? Thanks for all the useful information. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
A co-worker says she once had the same concern but in looking at the logo closer she noted the space is actually the peacock’s beak. If you look closely, she says you’ll see the outline of the peacock’s beak.

• V.R. of Auburn: Please contact the column. Sun Spots is unable to decipher your request, and you did not provide a name, contact address or number.

Dear Sun Spots: First, hats off to the Sun Journal for listening to the people regarding the TV Guide supplement in the Saturday paper. Back to the old-style little one. Hurrah.

Secondly, is there anyone who has an 8-track player that works? I have some tapes that I want to put on cassettes. Or could they record them for me with my cassettes. Please call me at (207) 966-2312. Leave a message. – No Name, Hebron.

Dear Sun Spots: I have never written to the Sun Spots column before, but I read an article in the paper and just had to answer it. I lost the paper so I have to write to you, and not them.

Your reader wrote in about a friend of hers who has electrical problems when touching outlets. I have had this problem for years. I was working at the time it started. When I touched a machine I worked on, there was a ball of fire from my hand to the machine. It wasn’t the machine, it was me that caused it. Also, at the same time, I couldn’t get into my car without a glove on.

The best advice I had was to wear leather-soled shoes. It was the best advice I ever was given. This reader can call me at 224-7424. – Ann Trask, North Turner.

Dear Sun Spots: I have several boxes of books to give away to anyone who enjoys reading. I have really run out of room to keep them. Most are gothic romances and nearly all are hardcovered. Please call (207) 782-7563 between 6 and 8 p.m., if interested. – A Lewiston reader.

Dear Sun Spots: I read your column each day and find it very interesting. I’m hoping someone will know where I can purchase a “Big Ben” windup alarm clock? I’d also be happy with an address where I could order one? – C. Allen, Farmington.

Answer:

In checking their Web site, Sun Spots found a Big Ben clock radio that looks like the 1939 version for $59.95. And readers interested in record players might also be interested in checking this Web site out. The Vermont Country Store lists one on its Web site for $54.99.

Dear Sun Spots: We have a Wagner drill for which I need to replace a power pack and battery too but cannot seem to find a dealer in our area. – A faithful reader, Auburn.
