TURNER – SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education will offer a certified nursing assistant class beginning Tuesday, March 16. If interested in pursuing a new career, call 225-3478 for information or visit the Adult Learning Complex, 486 Turner Center Road.
The course will prepare the student to give nursing assistance at a basic level under the supervision of a registered nurse. It consists of 70 hours of classroom/laboratory experiences and 80 hours of supervised clinical instruction.
Those who are already a CNA on the state registry with a minimum of one year of work experience and want to pursue the next level of a CNA career can take a SAD 52 Adult Ed certified medication technician course this spring.
The standardized medication course is 120 hours for experienced CNAs to administer selected non-injectable medications to patients who are 14 or older.
The class will include 60 hours of theory, 20 hours of skills lab and 40 hours of clinical. Interviews will be scheduled and TABE tests in math and reading will be administered. Persons must have a 10th grade reading and match competency to be accepted.
