MEXICO – The Region 9 School of Applied Technology board will hold a budget workshop prior to the beginning of its regular meeting Tuesday.

The monthly session begins at 6:30 p.m. for the budget workshop, followed by a regular board meeting at 7:30 p.m. A proposed 2004-05 operating budget may be approved during the board meeting.

Other agenda items include action on a new, three-year contract for the region’s dozen or so vocational instructors and adoption of a salary schedule for the school’s several educational technicians.

The board is expected to set two public hearings on the proposed 2004-05 budget for March 30 at the River Road school and at Telstar Regional High School. The vote on this year’s budget is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Region 9 school. The format will be a districtwide meeting with Australian ballot. Voters approved a $948,250 vocational budget and a $197,427 adult education budget last year.

Director Deborah Guimont is expected to provide an update on the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee. Other reports are planned for student services and adult education.
