FARMINGTON – State fire investigator Sgt. Ken Grimes said that a Mississippi man’s death was caused by smoke inhalation.

Philip R. Lindsey, 21, of Waynesboro, Miss., died early Thursday when fire swept through a cabin he was staying at in Farmington.

The fire originated in the living room of the two-room cabin in the vicinity of a twin bed.

There was so much damage at the scene, Grimes said, the cause of the fire was listed as undetermined. He did note that it was believed to be an accidental fire.

Lindsey was a temporary construction worker at SW&B Construction Corp., which is working on the upgrade of a paper machine at International Paper in Jay.

Lindsey had been staying at the cabin since Jan. 31 at Twin Pond Campground in Farmington.
