OCALA, Fla. – J. Russell Youland, 88, retired general sales manager for Railroad Weed Control of Westfield Mass, died Thursday, March 18, in Ocala, Fla.

Born in Dorchester, Mass., he considered himself a native of both St. Petersburg, Fla., and Turner. He moved to Ocala, Fla., in 1981.

He was a member of West United Methodist Church in Ocala, Silver Springs Presbyterian Men’s Club in Ocala and was former member of the Silver Springs Country Club in Ocala.

He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed playing golf and horseshoes, watching baseball and spending time with his family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be forever remembered by his survivors.

He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Louise; son, David and wife, Nancy of Turner; son, Frank and wife, Beverly of Parachute, Colo.; daughter, Virginia Jones and husband, Michael of Somers, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
