GREENWOOD – Oxford County Democrats have fielded a complete slate of candidates for the 2004 elections, according to county Chairwoman Cathy Newell of Greenwood.
“We are proud of the exceptional individuals who have come forward to represent our party, joining our incumbents who are seeking re-election. Our candidates bring a wealth of experience, new ideas and commitment to their individual races for legislative or county office,” Newell stated.
Legislative candidates include:
• State Sen. Bruce Bryant of Dixfield seeking re-election in District 14.
• Rep. John Patrick of Rumford in House District 92.
• Linda Petrie of Mexico, House District 93.
• Terry Hayes of Buckfield, House District 94.
• David Ivey of Oxford, House District 100.
• Roy Gedat of Norway, House District 97.
• Marlee Turner of Brownfield, House District 97.
• Gordon Fuller of Denmark, House District 99.
• Margaret Reimer of Bridgton, House District 98.
• Tim Carter of Bethel, House District 91.
• Marge Medd of Norway, State Senate District 13.
County candidates include:
• Commissioner Fred Kennard of Rumford, seeking re-election in District 3.
• George Driscoll of Bethel in commissioner District 1.
• Price Hutchins of Lovell, register of probate.
Oxford County Democrats will meet Thursday, March 25 at Buckfield High School for a potluck supper at 5:30 and a meeting at 6:30. The speaker will be Aymie Walshe of the Maine Democratic Party, who will cover plans for the upcoming state convention in May.
